Distinguished Faculty

Aron Egner is a Director with The Advisory Board Company, a membership-based, for-profit research firm serving over 2,400 of America’s leading hospitals and health systems. In this capacity, Mr. Egner is responsible for presenting the firm’s research findings to member institutions on-site.

Mr. Egner first served in government as a health care policy research analyst and assistant speechwriter for Senator Lautenberg of New Jersey. He later focused on health and biotech issues while working in journalism, the centerpiece of which was his work at Dateline NBC. In 2001 he received an award for his writing from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Mr. Egner has taught both for The University of Cape Town, in South Africa, and for Johns Hopkins University.

Loring Flint, M.D. is currently the Chief Medical Officer/Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs for Baystate Health System, an integrated delivery system in Western Massachusetts. He has held numerous clinical and administrative positions both at Baystate Health System and at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Flint is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

Michael L. Blau is the co-partner-in-charge of the Health Law Department of McDermott, Will & Emery’s Boston office and chairs the Department’s Planning Committee nationwide. He represents a wide variety of for-profit and non-profit health care organizations. Mr. Blau advises clients on health care corporate and regulatory matters, forming, financing, managing and operating ambulatory surgery centers. He also represents clients in health care related investigations, and administrative and judicial proceedings, and assists with health care dispute resolution.

Mr. Blau is a lecturer and writer on health law topics. He has recently co-authored a book on the new Stark II Rule that will soon be published by Atlantic Information Services, and previously co-authored a book entitled Developing and Managing Physician Networks (Thompson Publishing).

Craig Holm is the Director of Health Strategies & Solutions, Inc. He is responsible for directing and providing management consulting services to physicians, hospitals, and systems. Mr Holm’s expertise is in physician-hospital partnerships, primary care network development and ambulatory care planning.

Mr. Holm is the author of Allies or Adversaries: Revitalizing the Medical Staff Organization.
