Maintaining and improving your bottom line will always be a priority. However, it is almost inevitable that financial disaster will strike a healthcare facility at some point. When it does, many institutions are able to come back quickly, some slowly and some not at all. Often, institutions fall so deep into the financial abyss for so long that total organizational and cultural upheaval is required before stability can be achieved, not to mention the exhaustion of hard-earned financial resources.
As an officially designated Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Healthcare Management Association of Massachusetts is authorized to award 3.0 hours of Category II continuing education credit toward advancement or recertification in the ACHE.
Our Expert Faculty have all participated in successful hospital turnarounds and will respond to the following questions:
- How do you avoid a turnaround situation and what are the warning signs?
- Understanding these, how can my organization respond quickly to avoid the need for a major turnaround?
- If financial disaster strikes, where do we turn for help?
- How do we manage information flow so key constituents (Board, community, employees, patients, physicians) do not lose confidence in our institution and exacerbate the situation?
- What processes can we put into place to deal with major financial losses and a return to profitability?
- Where do the greatest opportunities usually lie for revenue enhancement and expense reduction and how can I quickly identify them?
